What If Church Felt More Like Real Life in Colorado Springs?

You can feel it in north Colorado Springs.

Work is full-on, housing isn’t cheap, kids’ schedules are wild, and the “Colorado lifestyle” you moved here for can quietly turn into just another thing to manage. Most of us are doing our best to keep the wheels on and still wondering, “Is this really how life is supposed to feel?”

And somewhere in the middle of traffic on Austin Bluffs, late-night email, and another trip to Costco, a thought might sneak in: “I should probably figure out this faith thing… but I don’t have time for a whole separate church world.”

When Church Feels Out of Touch

A lot of people around here have tried church before.

Some loved it, some got hurt, and some just felt like they walked into a live taping of a show they didn’t sign up for.

If you’ve ever sat in a service and thought, “Do these people know what a real Tuesday feels like?” — you’re not alone.

Between military deployments, defense and tech jobs, long commutes, kids’ sports, and the rising cost of living, life in Colorado Springs is beautiful and exhausting at the same time.

We get why a lot of people here are skeptical.

You’re not looking for a spiritual performance.

You’re looking for something real — a place where you can be honest about how you’re actually doing and not get side‑eyed for it.

What If Church Met You in Your Real Life?

At Discovery, we’re trying to change what people think when they hear the words “church" and
We’re not interested in putting on a show or pretending life is easy.
We’re interested in creating a community where your real life — the messy, overbooked, beautiful, stressful parts…actually belongs.

What if church was:

  • The one hour in your week where nobody expects you to have it all together.

  • A place where “I’m tired” is a perfectly acceptable prayer.

  • A community that talks honestly about things like anxiety, loneliness, marriage, parenting, and money without shame.

That’s what we’re building here — not perfectly, but on purpose.

A Little Humor, Because This Is Real Life

If your Sunday morning looks like negotiating with small humans, speed‑running breakfast, and hunting for a missing shoe, you’re in good company.
